Vittoria Randonneur tires wear out with a signature red strip. Once they kick-over and die, they expose their threads and are useless to ride on. Instead of just throwing these away, Dylan Bigby decided to re-appropriate them as belts. Using high-quality brass snaps and trimmed down Randos, he's made a green product thats functionality equals its design.
He calls them Retired Belts and you can see tons of pictures over at his blog. Hand made in SF from tires ridden in SF. Legit!
Available at the Retired Belts shop for $25 plus shipping.
Since Tom and I have been able to get a lot out the fixed gear community we would like to give back to it in some way. We’re willing to bet that a lot of frequenters Sir Probably’s have seen this video, but we feel it is a great tutorial to learning how to wheelie.
A self proclaimed “fixie newb” systematically breaks down the mechanics of the wheelie into a clear and concise list.
1. Raise your seat to find your balance point.
2. Pop it up with your most comfortable foot which may be your left or right or other foot. There is no need to worry about trying too hard because the front end comes up automatically.
3. Get into the “Go Point”
4. Balance that shit.
5. Wheelie all the way into a tardy mark in homeroom.
I know a bunch of people looking to get this down...so seeing this made me want to post it.so enjoy
My name is Justin and I run this blog. Ducko invited me over to post new music because regardless of how hard you try, you cannot download a bike and listen to it on your mp3 player.
In future post, I'll try and stay away from syndication, but for now here's the new BISB mix courtesy of Sam from Penguin Parade on WRVU.

"A bike should fit like a good pair of jeans. Every bike at f8 is a custom bike. You will be measured, groped, and asked inappropriate questions concerning your cycling habits. The frame will be built to spec and guaranteed to fit. Though we have ideas if you’re out of them. We’ll help you figure out a few simple measurements and hand over one of our designs. Point at what you like, smile, and hand us your wallet. Framesets start at $1900 and include cogs and belt bits. The full deal starts at $2700."
The True 3/8" axles for our Fixed hubs will be available starting on Friday, November 6. They feature an oversized aluminum center female style axle, and your choice of CrMo or Titanium axle bolts. This axle was derived from the axle in our best selling BMX Mini hub, and should make our axles virtually indestructible. The cone spacers are made from aluminum, with a knurled hardened steel washer pressed on to bite into your frame.

Here’s an interesting accessory; the Cinelli Bootleg B-Belt. It is a belt, made with… a flat inner tube! A very creative design on Cinelli’s part, this belt would be really cool to have. Its solid black, as you would imagine, and the buckle features Cinelli’s “winged C” on it. It also has “BOOTLEG” and other words printed on the outside of the Cinelli Bootleg B-Belt. Via Cinelli
